At the closing ceremony of the Belsen betting pool on Saturday, May 18, 2019, BSV Chairman Maico Marquardt was able to belatedly honor Thorsten Sievert for over 25 years of membership in BSV Belsen. Since Thorsten has been living in Bavaria for several years, he was unable to attend the BSV's Annual General Meeting in March. The honor could now be bestowed upon him because many BSV members, former members, and friends of BSV Belsen were present at the closing ceremony! Dear Thorsten, thank you so much for your loyalty to the club!

Rodehorst and Hohbein honored for 25 years of membership!

Last Friday, March 15, 2019, BSV Belsen von 1976 eV invited members to its annual general meeting in its own clubhouse.
After the welcome and confirmation of attendance by club chairman Maico Marquardt, secretary Sandra Stolzmann read the minutes of last year's general meeting from 2018.
Marquardt then reported on the past year of the association, mentioning, among other things, the large number of work services performed by the members in 2018.
The report also included information about the B-Cup final match on Friday, June 15, 2018, between SC Wietzenbruch 2 and 1. FC Celle 1.
Marquardt also mentioned the 2018 cup tournament, with the winning team "Buddy and Friends," as well as the Clubs' Day, which took place under the motto "Clubs in Bergen" and in which BSV Belsen participated with two stands. The chairman also made sure to mention the various construction projects that had been carried out at the BSV sports complex.
The chairman explained to those present that several events are scheduled for the current club year. He mentioned the sports field flea market, which will be held on Saturday, May 18th, and the tournament weekend on June 15th and 16th, featuring the men's small-field tournament on Saturday and the U14 small-field tournament on Sunday.
The football small field tournament as part of the holiday pass campaign of the city of Bergen on Saturday, July 27, 2019, as well as the Sparkasse football school at the BSV facility from Friday, August 30, to Sunday, September 1, 2019.
Of course, there are also several work details and construction projects planned for this year, as the chairman explained in conclusion.
Following his reports, Marquardt was able to honor several long-standing members for 10 and 25 years of membership in the BSV. Unfortunately, some of those to be honored were unable to attend due to work commitments or illness, so the chairman was only able to recognize Hagen Rodehorst and Oliver Hohbein for their 25 years of club membership that evening.
Following this, treasurer Bernd Stolzmann presented his financial report.
Stolzmann explained that the club year 2018 was concluded with a positive result.
The auditors Edgar Poog and Sebastian Marquardt certified that the treasurer's accounts were impeccable and clearly kept, and requested the discharge of the treasurer and the entire executive board.
This was unanimously approved by those present.
The report from Fabian Cohrs, the head of the football division, followed. Cohrs explained the sporting successes and failures of the BSV football teams. He mentioned their participation in the Krombacher Lower Saxony Over-60 Championship on June 16, 2018, in Groß Hehlen, as well as their participation in the Krombacher Lower Saxony Over-50 Championship, in which they were eliminated in the second round.
Naturally, the men's team's placement in the 2017/2018 season in the 2nd district league, as well as the current placement and outlook for the current 2018/2019 season, were discussed.
At the end of his report, Cohrs announced that BSV will register an U14 junior team for competition in the upcoming season.
Next up was the darts section head, Roman Aslett, with his report. Aslett explained briefly and succinctly that, unfortunately, due to player departures, the team was unable to maintain its league status in the 2017/2018 season and is currently in 6th place this season. He is confident that they can secure enough points in the remaining matches to achieve a solid mid-table finish in the league.
Following the reports, the election for the second auditor took place. Oliver Hohbein was nominated and unanimously elected.
This meant that Edgar Poog stepped down as auditor, and Sebastian Marquardt moved up to become the first auditor.
The last agenda items were dealt with quickly by the assembly, so that the chairman was able to end the 2019 annual general meeting early!
